Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the GT Officials platform operated by GT Officials (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the GT Officials platform. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf. We reserve the right to verify age and may terminate accounts that do not meet this requirement.
2. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information in your profile
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- Not share your login credentials with others
- Not create multiple accounts for the same person
3. Independent Contractor Status
Officials using the GT Officials platform are independent contractors, not employees of GT Officials. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws. GT Officials does not control the manner or means by which you perform officiating services. You are free to accept or decline any game assignment at your discretion.
As an independent contractor, you acknowledge that:
- GT Officials will issue IRS Form 1099-NEC if your annual earnings exceed $600
- You are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on your earnings
- GT Officials does not provide workers’ compensation, health insurance, or other employee benefits
- You may work with other assignors, leagues, or organizations simultaneously
4. Payment Terms
Officials are paid via ACH bank transfer through our payment processor, Mercury. To receive payments, you must provide valid bank account information. Payment amounts are determined by the game fee schedule in effect at the time of assignment.
- Payments are processed after game completion and confirmation
- Payment disputes must be raised within 30 days of the payment date
- GT Officials reserves the right to adjust payments for games that are cancelled, shortened, or rescheduled
5. Association Terms
Associations using the platform agree to:
- Submit accurate game schedules in a timely manner
- Pay invoices according to the agreed-upon fee schedule and terms
- Notify GT Officials promptly of cancellations or schedule changes
- Provide safe and appropriate venues for games
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or other users’ data
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform’s functionality
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through the messaging system
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform
7. AI-Powered Features
The platform includes AI-powered features that assist administrators with scheduling insights, schedule imports, and operational analytics. These features are provided for informational purposes only.
- AI-generated content may contain errors and should be verified before acting on it
- AI-imported schedules should always be reviewed for accuracy before publishing
- GT Officials is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated recommendations
8. Certification & Compliance
Officials may be required to upload and maintain current certifications (e.g., MSHSL, MYAS, concussion training) as determined by the associations they serve. You are responsible for keeping your certifications current. GT Officials may restrict assignments if required certifications are expired or missing.
9. Intellectual Property
The GT Officials platform, including its design, features, and content, is the property of GT Officials. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without written permission. Content you submit (messages, profile information) remains yours, but you grant us a license to use it in connection with operating the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GT Officials shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim related to the platform shall not exceed the amount you were paid through the platform in the 12 months preceding the claim.
GT Officials is not responsible for injuries, disputes, or incidents that occur at game venues. Officials assume responsibility for their own safety when accepting assignments.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GT Officials, its owners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the platform, violation of these Terms, or your performance of officiating services.
12. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to maintain required certifications, or for any other reason with reasonable notice.
Upon termination, your access to the platform will cease. We will retain certain data as described in our Privacy Policy, including payment records required for tax compliance.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. You agree to first attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us. If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
